Applications are invited for appointment as Senior Lecturer in the Chinese Language Enhancement Programme (CLEP) in the School of Chinese (Ref.: 532259), to commence as soon as possible and no later than August 2025, on a three-year fixed-term basis, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance and availability of funds.
At the Chinese Language Enhancement Programme (CLEP), our primary objective is to provide students with the essential Chinese language skills needed for their academic and professional journeys. We offer tailor-made, discipline-specific practical Chinese language courses to undergraduates from all faculties across the university. These courses, aligned with the university's strategic goals, aim not only to enhance students’ command of the Chinese language, but also to foster their career and academic development, paving the way for their future success. Lecturer/Assistant Lecturer in the Master of Arts in Chinese Historical Studies (MACHS) programme |

Applications are invited for appointment as Lecturer/Assistant Lecturer in the Master of Arts in Chinese Historical Studies (MACHS) programme in the School of Chinese (Ref.: 532347), to commence on August 15, 2025 or as soon as possible thereafter, on a two-year fixed-term basis, with the possibility of renewal subject to funding availability and satisfactory performance.
Applicants should possess a Ph.D. degree in Chinese Historical Studies or a related field and approximately 3 years’ post-qualification teaching experience at the tertiary level. They should have a proven track record of excellence in teaching and demonstrate evidence of administrative experience in higher education settings. Those with less experience may be considered for appointment as Assistant Lecturer. Preference will be given to those with expertise in modern and contemporary Chinese history, Hong Kong history, as well as history of the Lingnan areas. Demonstrator/Teaching Assistant in the Master of Arts in Chinese Historical Studies (MACHS) programme in the School of Chinese (Ref.: 532348) (to commence on August 15, 2025 or as soon as possible thereafter, on a two-year fixed-term basis with contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totaling up to 10% of basic salary, with the possibility of renewal subject to funding availability and satisfactory performance) Applicants should possess a MPhil degree or above in Chinese Historical Studies or a related field. Preference will be given to those with expertise in modern and contemporary Chinese history, Hong Kong history, as well as history of the Lingnan areas. Those with more experience in teaching and student consultations/supervision may be considered for the post of Demonstrator.
