Senior Executive Assistant/Executive Assistant (at the rank of Clerk I/II)

Applicants should hold a Bachelor's degree with at least two years’ relevant work experience in tertiary institutions. They should have a good command of written and spoken English and Chinese (including Putonghua); good interpersonal skills and telephone manner; self-motivation with a strong sense of responsibility; a good teamwork attitude; and an ability to multi-task, prioritize tasks, and meet tight deadlines. They should also be proficient in computer applications (such as MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Chinese word processing).

The appointee will be responsible for providing administrative support to a taught postgraduate programme, managing tasks related to student admissions, course selection, attendance records, data collection and compilation, and course evaluations. Additionally, he/she will assist with programme publicity, student activities, handling inquiries, and completing specific or general clerical tasks as required. Other duties may be assigned as necessary.  The appointee may be required to work outside normal office hours and/or travel occasionally. Shortlisted candidates will be invited to attend a written test and interview.

Lecturer/Assistant Lecturer in the Master of Arts in Chinese Language and Literature (MACLL) programme

Applications are invited for appointment as Lecturer/Assistant Lecturer in the Master of Arts in Chinese Language and Literature (MACLL) programme in the School of Chinese (Ref.: 537262), to commence on December 1, 2026, or as soon as possible thereafter, on a two-year fixed-term basis, with the possibility of renewal subject to funding availability and satisfactory performance.

Applicants should possess a Ph.D. degree in Chinese Language and Literature or a related field and 3 years’ post-qualification teaching experience at the tertiary level or other relevant professional experience. They should have a proven record of excellence in teaching and demonstrable administrative experience in higher education. Preference will be given to applicants with expertise in classical Chinese literature, especially in one or more of the following areas: classical Chinese poetry, classical Chinese prose, and gender and Chinese literary studies. The appointee will be expected to teach MACLL and undergraduate courses, supervise dissertations, assist with organizing MACLL field trips, and undertake programme administrative duties as assigned by the Programme Director.
