Abstract:
The emergence of new media tends to bring about changes in the forms of literary texts, which in turn inevitably leads to certain shifts in literary concepts and sparks debates over the nature of literature. In the history of literary development, the transition of literary media from oral language to writing, then to multimedia, and further to digital technology, serves as a strong validation of this viewpoint. This pattern of literary evolution offers valuable insights for examining contemporary hot-button issues in literary studies. In the current context, the application of artificial intelligence technology has given rise to the diversification of textual forms, prompting a rethinking of such issues as “literary expansion,” “the end of literature,” “the debate between language and image,” and “new mass culture.”
