周品晶女士,一九八六年起開始在香港大學語言中心執教,現為中文學院漢語中心講師。周老師擔任各級對外粵語教學及國際漢語讀寫教學(粵語);同時負責粵語組統籌工作逾二十年。她為校內外非華語人士策劃粵語聽說課程和中文讀寫課程,並熱心編寫國際漢語教材(粵語),其中五冊教材已出版並發行海外。周老師教學深受學生歡迎,二零零九年榮獲香港大學文學院頒授的優異教學獎(http://tl.arts.hku.hk/people_BCChow.php)。近年來,她又致力於「粵拼」推廣工作和國際漢語漢字教學的研究,曾多次應邀主持相關方面的講習班。

Ms. Chow Bun Ching joined the University of Hong Kong in 1986 and received tenure in 1993. Ms Chow teaches language courses at all levels in the Chinese Language Centre (CLC). She is the coordinator of the Cantonese courses offered by the CLC and has been in charge of the day to day running of all Cantonese courses for over two decades. In addition, she is involved in the reviewing and designing of the curriculum, together with continuous exploring and developing of new and up-to-date teaching materials. Ms. Chow has published several textbooks that are widely used over the world. In 2009, she was awarded a Faculty Teaching Excellence Award from the Faculty of Arts in the University (http://tl.arts.hku.hk/people_BCChow.php).

Her research interests are in the area of the teaching and learning of written Chinese and Cantonese as a foreign language. Recently, Ms. Chow has participated in holding workshops and giving speeches regarding “How to teach Cantonese with Jyutping” and “Chinese characters learning in TCFL” for Chinese teachers to share her experience.
